How it Happens

When you smugly think that your household has nearly escaped winter without so much as a stuffy nose, you'll get hit. That's what happened in these here parts.

February was a bad time, health wise. Four of us suffered from the "Ultimate Body Cleanse"--I think you get the general idea of its two major symptoms--I'll spare you the details.

When that ended a flu moved in with its fevers, chills, coughing, sore throat, sinus ridiculousness and horrendous fatigue. The effects of that one hit five of us, including me. I haven't been that sick in my life. I have just now managed to get my house picked up and still haven't deep-cleaned.

And I managed to accrue a $17.80 fine at the library (which is less than a half a mile from my house).

Yes, all kinds of balls I had up in the air were dropping left and right around here. Including this blog, obviously.

Of course, it didn't help that I was in the middle of transforming the playroom into a bedroom for my two little girls when all the sickness hit. I had already been neglecting certain tasks around here to get that intense, special project done.

I'll get some pictures up in the near future (of the new room, not of our convalescence). Knock on wood, we won't be sick like that again for another 35 years.

Over $17?! Why didn't you call us to return your books/movies? That's a good lunch, plus dessert! Oh, well, so glad you're better. The room looks great! You need to come decorate my girls' room. You need to clean it first though :)

I racked up my own library bill this week GRRRR. But we weren't sick, just busy and forgetful. So glad that you are all feeling better. That was some nasty stuff going around. Yuck!

I am glad you are better, also. It is so hard to be the mom and sick.

I think this year has been the worst for everyone. We rarely get sick and it seems like we can't keep the germs out of our house. I am so really for spring and no more germs!!!! I can't wait to see pictures of your girls new room. How fun!!--except when you are sick. :)

Sorry you guys were so sick! It has been a really bad season for that. Isn't that always the way though with special projects? You have to neglect other stuff to get it done.

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather! We missed you around here. The flu has been bad every where this year. It's bad right now here in Maine. Over half the congregation was missing from church yesterday, and there were a bunch of people there (including the Pastor & his wife) who were sick. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we didn't come home with any of those nasty germs!!!

Ah, the pleasure of pooping and puking all at the same time. It's not my blog I don't have to spare the details. So sorry. We had a round of that ourselves thanks to a jr. bacon cheeseburger contaminated with some sort of vile deathly strain of bacteria. Glad you're better. Can't wait to see the room. Hopefully in person.

That stinks. I am terrible with the library. It is just cheaper for me to buy the book than to check it out.

I have had an outstanding $45 library fine for over a year. I am sorry about the sickies. We have had one round after another all winter. I am grateful you are blogging again. I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms
